We always strive to serve all of our guests with delicious food with friendly reliable service each and every time. If for any reason your satisfaction has not been met and exceeded, please talk to a member of the management team. We like to fix things on the day where possible and we like to have all of our guests walk away with a smile on their face.

Food Miles & Sustainability

We use local suppliers wherever possible to help the environment by reducing the products footprint to us. In doing so we cut down on the transportation and gas emissions from the vans they come in.

We use local fishermen Keiron Harris and Luke Copperthwaite, who bring their latest catch straight to our door. Famous Portland Hood Squid, Portland Bill Bream, Megrim, Gunard and John Dory are just some of the species we see come in on any given day. All of the fish comes from the surrounding waters of Portland and Keiron and Luke fish using a minimal stress regime.

The Wind Turbines

Portland Marina decided to make use of the free coastal winds and erected wind turbines to feed electricity back into the grid, and these iconic turbines were produced by Westwind in Northern Ireland. Go to the Westwind turbines website for more information.

When the lights in the restaurant dim in the evening – it simply means the wind is dropping for the day. At least – that’s our story.

Waste and recycling

There are two locations within the marina for disposing of domestic refuse: the compound in the centre of the car park and the waste containers on G pontoon.

All waste collected at the marina is collected by Veolia who are striving to eradicate waste going to landfill. All the usual recyclables can be put in the bins with orange lids (paper, cardboard, plastic, polystyrene, and other packaging wastes). The only recyclable materials that cannot be collected through this scheme are foil drinks cartons.

Port waste

Portland Marina has a detailed waste management plan. They fully conform within the legislation on the disposal of catering waste from non EU countries. So if you have food waste from outside of the EU, please declare it and the marina will provide a separate refuse bin (which will then go off separately for incarceration or be put in a very deep hole!).
